Craniosacral Therapy Training Program

For transformational healing practitioners

Introduction

Peggy Reynolds and staff offer a two-year intensive training in Craniosacral Biodynamics. Successful completion of the course leads to a professional Certification in Craniosacral Therapy.

The professional training consists of seven 4-day seminars given over the space of one year, and four 5-day seminars given over the second year.

You can take the first year only but will not be eligible for your registration until you complete the second year.

Our approach to craniosacral work is a direct reflection of the teachings of Franklyn Sills, RPP, RCST, Director of the Karuna Institute in Devon, England and author of The Polarity Process and Craniosacral Biodynamics. Sills emphasizes the power of intentional, intuitive dialogue with the client’s system. Through practitioner/client interaction, the system reveals its shapes and patterns and mobilizes its own resources to return to its core blueprint pattern of health and vitality. Sills’ integrated approach to Craniosacral Therapy originates in the teachings of William Sutherland, DO, founder of Cranial Osteopathy, who viewed the Breath of Life as the foundation of healing.

Other important influences in our Craniosacral training include Dr. Ray Castellino’s pre- and perinatal research and methods, and Dr. Peter Levine’s “Somatic Experiencing” system for trauma resolution.

Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America is the source of certification for Craniosacral Therapy based on the “Breath of Life” approach taught by Franklyn Sills. This certification applies only to the Sills 50-day curriculum, not other Craniosacral courses offered around the country by other organizations.

A $250.00 non-refundable deposit will hold your place. The remainder of the class fees will be due 30 days prior to the course start date.

The first 4-day course is also intended to meet the course requirements of Ray Castellino and Myrna Martin’s Pre and Peri-Natal Birth Training. You will be expected to attend all of the classes and complete all the homework, which will consist of reading, study of anatomy, clinical practicum, and write-ups. You will also need to receive 10 sessions of craniosacral work from a Registered Cranial Sacral Therapist over the time of your study. The fee for these sessions is not included in the class cost. You will pay the therapist separately. Their approximate fees generally range from $80.00 to $150.00 per session.

Once you have completed what is outlined above, you will receive a diploma of completion, which entitles you to apply for your Registered Cranial Sacral Therapy status through the Biodynamic Craniosacral Association Of North America.

  • Bones and membranes
  • Augmentations skills
  • State of balance
  • Tissue field dynamics
  • Deepening into skills working with families and infants- Relational field dynamics in family work

Module 3

  • Cranial base patterns and whole body dynamics
  • Cranial base anatomy structure and function
  • Reciprocal tension membranes (RTM)
  • Holding the whole
  • Learning how this material is held both from the pre and perinatal time as well as in the present moment

Module 4

  • Central nervous system motility
  • The midline anatomy CNS motility

Year 2: Advanced Training

Includes six modules. Each module is five days—30 days in total.

We will be working with families in each of the following seminars as well as looking at the students’ holding patterns around early trauma.

Module 6

  • Facial Dynamics
  • Frontal, ethmoid, occipital, sphenoid
  • Cranial base relationships
  • We will explore how early needs met around breastfeeding affect these topics

Module 7

  • TMJ
  • Hard palate, inter palatine, Vomer
  • Completions of the first year

Module 8: Visceral Work

A very simple approach is to appreciate the abdominal organs opening like a flower around the umbilicus and the heart expanding to fill the thoracic cavity. We will explore all the organs within their motility and mobility.

Module 9: Shock and Trauma

The first step is learning to recognize the signs of shock and trauma. We will explore tracking the clients’ nervous system and patterns held within the tissues and fluids. We will learn how to help the system move out of freeze and work with flight and fight. You will learn the verbal skills needed to work in this territory.

Module 10: Spinal Nerve Facilitation

Fulcrums in the vertebra and the vertebral disks cause great pain and dysfunction. This course offers skills to free the spine at all levels, bone, nervous system, and connective tissue.

Module 11: Birth Dynamics in Craniosacral Therapy

We will explore basic concepts and work with therapeutic skills needed to resolve birth trauma. This will include the stages of birth and related concepts.
